Public invited to Golden Designs’ Senior Citizens Art Fair
Patrons and members of the public are being invited to a day of inspiration, art, and community at the Senior Citizens Art Fair to be held at Regardless (Manley Centre) on Saturday, December 9.
The Manley Centre is located at 4 Washington Drive, Kingston 10 as the event is scheduled for 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Those attending will undoubtedly come across some hidden treasures and will be able to explore a diverse variety of handmade items, including household goods, clothing, books, and delectable homemade food, all crafted by the talented seniors in our community.
Shelly-Ann Thompson, Founder and Principal Director of Golden Designs which is organising the event, said attendees, while supporting seniors, will experience intergenerational talent on display.
“They will be able to witness a remarkable showcase of skills spanning an impressive age range from 60 to 106 years old. Your attendance directly contributes to the well-being and artistic journey of our seniors, providing them with the recognition they deserve,” Thompson said.
She shared that some of the artists whose works will be on display are: Paul Blackwood – Paintings AVRAM’s Designs; Leather Sandals by Ann-Marie Walker; Natural Juices by Marcia Dixon; Crochet Trinkets by Arnold Bertram; Books by Margaret Stanley; Crochet Swimwear by Winnifred ‘Ms. Pearl’ Stern.
In imploring members of the public to turn out in their numbers, Thompson said “Your presence at the senior citizens art fair is not just an opportunity to witness artistic brilliance but also a chance to make a positive impact on the lives of our seniors. Let’s come together to make this event a resounding success”.
