Masicka’s Generation of Kings makes #2 debut on Billboard Reggae chart
Masicka has again debuted in the number two spot on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. His sophomore set and debut for Def Jam Recordings, Generation of Kings, enters the chart dated December 16 in the runner-up position.
Masicka’s previous album, 2021’s 438, also debuted and peaked at number two.
Generation of Kings also debuts at number 14 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart. The 16-track set features collaborations with ‘Queen of Dancehall’ Spice, Chronic Law, Lila Ike, Popcaan, Dexta Daps, Fridayy and Fave.
In an interview with Observer Online last week, Masicka shared the inspiration behind the title of the project.
“Generation of Kings is family and legacy. It is also a representation of excellence and my continuous personal development into a better and better version of myself. Additionally, it is a sign of generational prosperity, as everything I produce is intended to leave a legacy for my children and their future generations,” said Masicka.
Producers, including Moz “Mozeeko” Hamm, Donald “Razzy” Chen, Atto Wallance, and Mario “Dunw3ll” Dunwell are among those who produced tracks on Generation of Kings.
