Mt Pleasant’s Campbell off to Charlton
ST ANN, Jamaica – Mt Pleasant FA’s midfielder Devonte Campbell left the island last weekend for London, England where he will undergo a two- week training stint with English League One team, Charlton Athletic FC.
The training stint was the first action of the “newly signed ‘Mountain to Valley’ partnership between the two clubs” , a release from Mt Pleasant said on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old Montego Bay native has been with Mt Pleasant FA since he was 14 years old when the first batch of students was enrolled at the St Ann-based institution. He has been a part of the club’s Premier League team since the 2020-21 season and has played at the national Under- 20 and Under-23 age groups. He was also invited to the Reggae Boyz team in 2021 for a friendly international against Peru in Lima.
