One Love Feast: ‘Marley’ Premiere in Kingston with The Best Dressed Chicken

Under the starlit skies of Kingston, the world premiere of Bob Marley: One Love, at the Carib Theatre on Tuesday, January 23, unfolded like a musical symphony, weaving the nostalgia of Bob Marley’s era into a contemporary celebration. Chef Jacqui Tyson, inspired by the theme “Pon de Cawna, Easy Skanking Street,” created a menu that deftly captured the essence of Marley’s Kingston and the enduring spirit of Jamaica.

The menu, a curated medley of flavours, showcased Jamaican street food with The Best Dressed Chicken. From a hearty pot of chicken soup straight from the hand cart to the irresistible allure of chicken patties served in paper bags from the patty warmer, each dish told a story of Jamaica’s vibrant culinary tapestry. Fans delighted in fried chicken and chips “inna de box”, experienced the authenticity of ital stew and indulged in roasted breadfruit, pressed plantain, and the comforting taste of freshly baked hardo bread.

Arielle Oliver, brand manager at The Best Dressed Chicken, shared her excitement about the event: “Being a part of this iconic celebration was a joy for The Best Dressed Chicken. We aimed to transport fans through an authentic culinary journey that mirrored the soul of Jamaica. Our goal was to curate an experience that paid homage to the rich Jamaican street culture and added a flavourful dimension to celebrating Bob Marley’s legacy.”

As the night unfolded, the culinary spectacle mirrored the infectious enthusiasm of the premiere itself. Unsurprisingly, over 1000 fans were not just witnesses but active participants, delighting in offerings that made the evening truly unforgettable.
