Police name person of interest in the murder of Melissa Silvera
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Detectives assigned to the Major Investigations Division (MID), are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest who they believe can assist with the investigation surrounding the death of Melissa Silvera.
She is Sashana Miller, of a corporate area address.
Miller is being asked to turn herself in to the MID’s office at 230 Spanish Town Road, Kingston 11, or the Criminal Investigation Branch head office at the NCB South Tower, located on Oxford Road in Kingston 5.
Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Sashana Miller is being asked to contact MID at 876-758-5048, CIB at 876-922-2380, Crime Stop at 311, the 119 Police Emergency 119 or the nearest police station.
Silvera was the wife of former People’s National Party (PNP) Member of Parliament Jolyan Silvera. She was found dead in the couple’s Stony Hill, St Andrew, home on November 10, 2023.
It was initially assumed that she had died from natural causes, but police had launched a murder investigation weeks after she had died.

On January 19, Jolyan was charged with her murder. He is scheduled to return to court on February 8, when the matter will be mentioned in the Supreme Court. Jolyan was the MP for St Mary Western seat for the PNP after he won the seat in 2011.
