Mandy’s Express Café is a stylish and cosy eatery located in the industrial belt of south Montego Bay. What started as merely a thought between two friends became a reality in June 2021 and the 600-sq ft space at Carjars Plaza added something unique to the food options on this rugged industrial side of the city.

Mandy’s Express Café principal Caroline Jarrett explained the concept behind the menu offerings.

“We wanted a fast-paced breakfast and lunch café serving items for the working class and for the patrons of businesses in the south Montego Bay area as well as its environs. Mandy’s Express Café serves a diverse menu of standard café style, done-to-order meals, beverages and pastries. We offer a quaint yet limited-dining experience. Most of our customers, though, get their orders delivered straight to their homes or offices. Our versatility has led us to offer catering services to small-to- medium events and from corporate breakfast/lunch events to birthday functions. The positive response has allowed us to really expand our offerings,” Jarrett explained.

“The café itself is small but we have a quick turnaround that sees us serving continental and Jamaican fusion breakfast items as well as an international fusion for deli lunch items. We also specialise in coffees, teas and freshly made juices. Breakfast is served all day with choices being Jamaican, American and English breakfast options. Although we offer a yardie-style Jamaican lunch special, our main lunch items consist of lite bites such as soups, salads, wings, burgers, paninis and, for those who prefer a later lunch into dinner option, we have extended our menu to provide pastas, fried rice and burritos,” Jarrett added.

“We pride ourselves in making our meals fresh every day, boasting signature sauces and homemade items. Customer service is our top priority and we aim to ensure customers are genuinely pleased,” Jarrett continued.

“As we strive to be the best café experience, that for us means providing the most attractive and tasty meals and beverages with exceptional quality, service, cleanliness and value so that every customer is satisfied. We offer from ackee and salt fish plantain cups to tacos, quesadillas, but the one item that supersedes the others is our OFM (Originally From Mobay) burger. That has been a hit from the minute we opened our doors.”

“The Mandy’s Express Café idea came out of the need for an eatery option in Montego Bay which provides non-traditional and unique food options. My background is in law and business but I stumbled into the food and beverage sector because of my love and exposure to food through travelling. Mandy is my pet-name and I want to create a household brand that will transcend generations to come,” a confident Jarrett expressed.
