WATCH: Comrades, Labourites show unity in St Andrew South as nomination proceedings get underway
KINGSTON, Jamaica – They may have donned different colours as they represented their party of choice but there was no sign of division as supporters turned out in their numbers in St Andrew Southern for Nomination Day on Thursday.
Clad in their green and orange shirts, labourites and comrades converged in unison at the intersection of Third Avenue and Collie Smith Drive in St Andrew Southern constituency at the start of Nomination Day proceedings.
A video clip of the morning’s activities showed supporters of opposing parties embracing each other as they gathered in a section of the constituency.
On Thursday, persons will have the opportunity to present themselves as candidates for the 2024 local government elections on February 26.
The 2024 local government elections will be the first since 2016.
