Pride take control of match against Scorpion
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica Scorpion were 220-8 in their second innings on Friday as Barbados Pride took firm control of the third-round regional four-day match at Sabina Park in Kingston.
Derval Green, on six, and Gordon Bryan, who is yet to score, are the not out batsmen for the Scorpions.
Scores: Scorpions 269 (78.4 ovs) & 220-8 (63 ovs); Pride 389 (120 ovs)
The Scorpions all-rounder Abhijai Mansingh has top-scored so far with 54, while medium pacer Shaquille Cumberbatch impressed for the Pride with 4-22.
Earlier on Friday, Barbados Pride resumed from their overnight score of 315-6 with Brathwaite, on 129, and former West Indies Test wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich on 19.
Brathwaite, the West Indies Test captain, went on to make 142, while Dowrich chipped in with 44 as the visitors were dismissed for 389 in their first innings which gave them a lead of 120 runs.
Medium pacer Green took 4-78.
