VM Group CEO Courtney Campbell to receive coveted AFJ International Achievement Award

COURTNEY Campbell, VM Group president and chief executive officer, will receive the prestigious 2024 International Achievement Award from the American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ).

AFJ is a highly regarded charity organisation that, for over 40 years, has provided well-needed support in education, health care, and economic development to Jamaica.

Campbell will receive the coveted award at a gala event in Florida on May 4, recognising his career achievements and his unrelenting drive to effect meaningful improvements to people’s lives including through his spirited advocacy for financial inclusion, his chairmanship of The VM Foundation, his service to the Governor General Jamaica Trust, the Council of World Missions, the National Education Trust, and other endeavours.

“I am deeply honoured and humbled by this recognition from the AFJ. I consider this a team award and I’m eternally grateful to my colleagues, friends and family who have played an immeasurable role in my life and career so far. Most of all, I am thankful for God’s unfailing faithfulness, and I pray for His continued grace and guidance,” said Campbell.

Past recipients of this award include Dave Barger, president of JetBlue Airways; Denis O’Brien, chairman of Digicel; Chris Blackwell, chairman of Island Outpost; Thalia Lyn, president of Island Grill; Olympian Usain Bolt; entertainer Cedella Marley; former United States President Ronald Reagan; musician Harry Belafonte, and others.
