Trishana’s Top Picks – Holmwood athletes to watch at Champs 2024

Trishana’s Top Picks – Holmwood athletes to watch at Champs 2024

1. Andrene Peart

Key performances are expected from Peart and Jovi Rose in the middle distances, and the pair should lead the team with some good points if they should advance to the finals in the 800m and 1500m.

2. Jovi Rose

Like Andrene Peart, she is critical in the middle distance events and the team will be expecting good results from her.

3. Tracy-Ann Evans – 400m – Class 3

A young talent who can get into the finals of the girls’ event. If she does, I have her finishing in the top four — and those are the points that can make a difference.

4. Cindy Rose – 1500m – Class 1

She has been consistent in the last few seasons, and if she gets it right tactically she can get on the podium in the event.

5. Florence Nafamba – 3000m Open

The event is open, and watching her at the most recently held Central Champs, she’s capable of finishing in the top events. It’s important, since the team needs all the points to challenge St Jago for a top three finish.
