POA congratulates Dr Kevin Blake on his appointment
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The executive of the Police Officers’ Association (POA) has congratulated Dr Kevin Blake on his appointment as commissioner of police.
The former deputy commissioner was appointed head of the Jamaica Constabulary Force on Wednesday.

In its statement on Thursday, the POA said Blake’s achievement is “a proud moment for the Officer Corps in general.”
“As an Executive, we have taken note that your appointment is a statement of your unwavering commitment to the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF). Your leadership, integrity and vision has earned you the trust and respect of the JCF membership and we are confident that you will propel this organisation forward,” the statement read.
“As you embark on this new journey, the POA stands ready to provide any necessary support, knowing full well, that the success of the commissioner is the success of us all,” it continued.
Blake will assume his new role on March 19, succeeding the current commissioner, Major General Anthony Anderson, whose tenure concludes on March 18.
