#Champs2024: Wolmerian Natrice East eases into Class 3 girls’ 100m semis
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Natrice East of Wolmer’s Girls’ School comfortably booked her spot in the semi-finals of the Class 3 girls 100m at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships on Tuesday.
East clocked an easy 12.42 to claim heat one ahead of Holmwood Technical’s Shaneka Wilson (12.70) and Jahmilia Humes of Meadowbrook High (12.89).
Meanwhile, Edwin Allen High’s Kerelle Etienne (12.65), Vere Technical’s Tianna Bembridge (12.78), and Mikaela McBean of Convent of Mercy Alpha (12.90) of heat two, and Adora Campbell of St Jago High (12.20) and Mount Alvernia’s Gianna Murray (12.60) of heat three, are through to the next round.
Advancing from heat four are Immaculate Conception High’s Kayla Johnson (12.32), Akeelah Bell of Wolmer’s Girls (12.61) and Amelia Civil of Dinthill Technical (12.89).
In heat five, St Mary High’s Kaliesha Bell (12.25), Muschett High’s Mickelia Henlon (12.55) and Tashika Thompson of Excelsior High (12.55) also qualified.
The four competitors to qualify from heat six are Edwin Allen’s Karee Tape (12.56), Ronique Stewart of Rusea’s High (12.63), Immaculate Conception’s Naje Brown (12.80) and Britany Jones of St Mary High (12.86).
In heat seven and eight, Vere Technical’s Pasha Gaye Forrester (12.42), Holmwood Technical’s Maria Baker (19.61), Martina Parkes of St Jago (12.68), Campion College’s Gabrielle Dennis (12.92) and Paris Pomings of Excelsior High (12.93) also qualified.
The semi-finalists in the Class 3 girls’ 100m will face the starter at 5:30 pm.
