Reggae Boyz move up in Fifa rankings
Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz have moved up in the latest Fifa and Concacaf rankings after their historic third-place finish in the recently-concluded Concacaf Nations League.
The Boyz moved up from sixth to fifth place on the Concacaf charts after gaining 92 quality points, the most by any team in the confederation in the latest index, and moved up two places from 57th to 55th in the Fifa world rankings.
In a news release, newly re-elected Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) president Michael Ricketts said, “We are certainly pleased to see our national team move up in the Concacaf and Fifa rankings respectively. For the first time in our history we landed on the podium in the Concacaf Nations League and now we eagerly anticipate the busy summer that lies ahead. Again we are proud of the Boyz and we look forward to them continuing to move up in the rankings.”
