Funcaandun hunts four straight in World Veterinary Trophy
TALENTED foreigner Funcaadun, who is unbeaten in three starts on local soil so far, returns to take on rivals in the $1.25-million World Veterinary Trophy on tomorrow’s 10-race card.
The race is for three-year-olds and upward at the Overnight Allowance level over one mile (1,600m).
The Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide takes a closer look at the six runners entered and their chances of winning.
1.BABYLIKE: (5 dk b m by Savoy Stomp – Ladylike) – Has not won a race in four starts this season.
Babylike, while not expected to win, could make the frame in this small field.
2.BIG ARGUMENT: (6 ch m by Nasheet – I Don’t Know) – Has no realistic chance of winning this one.
3.GILBERT (USA): (5 ch h by Jack Milton – Causin A Storm) – Has no form to be recommended here.
4. MONEY MONSTER: (7 b g Casual Trick – She’s Traditional) – Has been doing fairly well at the races in recent times. Based on back class,
Money Monster looks the likely one to give the favourite most to do here.
5.FUNCAADUN (USA): (3 b c by Klimt – Fiftyshadesofffun) – Has not put a hoof wrong so far on local soil.
Funcaandun has been brilliant in his races, winning over six furlongs in 1:12.2 and twice over seven furlongs in 1:26.2 and 1:27.1, respectively. Testing a mile for the first time, it is going to be a case of how far will
Funcaandun win by here.
6.EAGLE ONE (USA): (7 b g by Astrology
– Frisky Cheerleader) – Finished off the board on his season debut over the straight on April 14.
Eagle One cannot win this but could make the frame.
