Farmer found dead in pig pen in Hanover
HANOVER, Jamaica— Police have launched a probe after a farmer was found dead in a pig pen at Fish River Road in Logwood district, Hanover on Tuesday.
The man, 25-year-old Jamar Miles, otherwise called ‘Buss Head’, was found by residents who launched a search after he went missing.
Reports are that around 6:00 am, Miles left his home to tend to his animals on a farm nearby. A short time afterwards, residents reported hearing explosions, however, no one reportedly contacted the police.
Calls made to Miles’ cellphone by his girlfriend, who became concerned when he did not return home at his usual time, went to voicemail.
Around 1:00 pm, police said concerned residents made checks at Miles’ pig farm and discovered his body lying face down inside one of his pig pens.
The residents summoned the police, who found Miles in a pool of blood clad in a white t-shirt, blue jeans shorts and a pair of water boots. He had what appeared to be multiple gunshot injuries to his torso.
Lawmen subsequently took Miles to the Noel Holmes Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
More than 15 spent casings were retrieved from the scene.
No motive has yet been established for the killing, the police said.
