NCB lift 2024 Winners domino league
National Commercial Bank (NCB) were crowned champions of the 2024 Winners Corporate Domino League on Friday after defeating Spectrum Enterprise in the grand finale held at NCB’s Wellness Centre at Phoenix Avenue in St Andrew.
NCB got the better of Spectrum Enterprise 82-71 thanks to a game-high 31 points scored by the final’s Most Outstanding pair, Paul Gray and Keith Campbell.
NCB started the match well, racing to a 15-5 point lead and maintained a 10-point lead for most of the first half. They led 24-14 in the first half-hour of play.
However, Spectrum Enterprise gradually found their flow and attempted to cut into NCB’s advantage. They reduced NCB’s lead with the score at 40-32, but the bank’s players won the last three games before the whistle to lead 43-32 at the interval.
It was expected to be a fierce battle on the resumption, but that did not happen as NCB separated from Spectrum Enterprise from the start. NCB performed a clean sweep of all four tables four times, whereas Spectrum Enterprise only did so once.
Spectrum Enterprise gained momentum near the end of the game, but their late charge was in vain as NCB easily triumphed by nine points.
Covenant Insurance Brokers and Digicel Group shared third place.
Bammaz Auto Shop took the knockout title after defeating Crystal Network Solution 103-94 in the final, also held NCB’s Wellness Centre on Friday.
NCB await the winner of the Civil Service Domino League to contest the President’s Cup which will decide the Champions of Champions of the Winners Corporate Domino in Jamaica. The final of the Civil Service League is scheduled for this Friday at Jasicera Park in St Andrew.
