The Extroverted X: Introducing the all-new BMW X2

When the first BMW X2 was released in 2017 it introduced the unique concept of a sports activity coupé (SAC) vehicle to the premium compact segment. Now, seven years later, the new generation BMW X2 is even more distinctive, sportier, and even more forward-looking than before.

The new BMW X2 has an extroverted, visually expressive design, which clearly differentiates it from its class-leading counterpart, the BMW X1. As such, it is instantly identifiable as a pure-bred SAC. The new BMW X2 has grown by 194 millimetres in length over its predecessor to 4,554 millimetres, by 21 millimetres in width to 1,845 millimetres and by 64 millimetres in height to 1,590 millimetres. Plus, its increased wheelbase and wider tracks benefit space in both the five seats and the trunk.

The model-specific, upright front end of the new BMW X2 exudes confidence and presence. The roofline of the BMW X2 flows along an unbroken path into the rear of the vehicle to create its defined coupé silhouette. At the rear, the flared wheel arches and muscular shoulders come to the fore.

The interior of the new BMW X2 exudes modern and sporty touches. The slender instrument panel houses the BMW curved display and is joined in the cabin by a floating armrest, which includes a smartphone tray with indirect illumination and wireless charging. The BMW X2’s character is further emphasised through its newly developed seating.

The BMW performance model variant, the X2 M35i xDrive, will be available for order at market launch and is set to bring the compact SAC’s dynamic nature even more prominently to the forefront. Its 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine produces a maximum output of 300 hp and sprints to 62 mph from rest in 5.4 seconds. M-specific chassis tuning teams up with BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive to deliver sublime performance characteristics. Its standard adaptive M suspension enhances both agility and long-distance comfort. The other model variant available at launch in Jamaica is the BMW X2 xDrive20i.
