NWC billing issues
Dear Claudienne,
I am seeking your help to address an issue that I have been having with the National Water Commission (NWC) since 2020. I have been living at the above Havendale address for the past 47 years and am the owner of the premises. The premises has two meters: (a) customer
# 121xxx; premises # 121xxx and (b) customer# 131xxx; premises# 131xxx
The gate of the premises is at all times padlocked, and in the past there was never a problem for the meter reader to call or ring for entry.
However, since 2020, this has become a problem. Since 2020, 2021, 2022, and early 2023, on the few occasions that the meter has been read, it has been after I visited the Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) and lodged a complaint.
At the time of writing to you I again visited the NWC on January 11, 2024. The receiving employee assured me that someone would be sent on 23-26/24 to read the meters. However, no one has come.
For 2023 alone I have received nine estimated bills. I would be most grateful if you could now give me some help as I am now fed up and frustrated at 80 years of age. All my bills are paid in advance of the due date.
Thanking you for any help that you can assist me with at this time.
MR
Dear MR,
Tell Claudienne has brought your problem to the attention of the NWC regional manager for Kingston and St Andrew and St Thomas.
The column notes that the NWC is now reading the water meters at your premises, as Tell Claudienne gave the commission your phone number to enable them to make arrangements for the meters to be read.
The column notes that the meters were read in February, March, April, and May 21, 2024.
We wish you all the best.
