Prof Floyd Morris re-elected to UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
KINGSTON, Jamaica- Professor Floyd Morris has been re-elected to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
Morris, who recently created history as the first blind person to be appointed professor at The University of the West Indies, received 135 votes from 186 countries.

The professor in Disability Studies was first elected to the UN committee in November 2020 for a four-year term.
The CRPD is the international body of experts that monitors the implementation of the rights guaranteed under the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (2007).
