Adventists donate over $350,000 worth of items to Granville Child Care Facility
TRELAWNY, Jamaica— In an act of generosity, the North Jamaica Conference (NJC) of Seventh-day Adventist Ministerial Fraternity recently spearheaded an outreach initiative at the Granville Child Care Facility in Trelawny where they handed over $350,000 worth of items.
The endeavour saw clothing, school supplies, and care items, including cosmetics and female personal products being distributed to the institution.
A 12-member team comprising seven pastors, one shepherdess, three community services personnel, and a child participated in the initiative which benefitted about 48 young girls. The items were well received by the over 26 staff members at the facility.
The impact of the outreach extended beyond the material goods distributed as the pastors engaged in a devotional exercise, prayer sessions, and a motivational seminar for the girls.
“This serves as a beacon of hope and kindness, reminding us of the power of community and collective action in uplifting those facing adversity, in keeping with Christ’s method. Through their selfless actions, the NJC Ministerial Fraternity has exemplified the true spirit of empathy, altruism, and Christian compassion,” said Pastor Jermaine Johnson, public relations officer, NJC Ministerial Fraternity.
“As we reflect on this incredible gesture, let it inspire us to seek out opportunities to support and uplift those in need within our own communities. Together, we can continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, one act of kindness at a time,” he added.
