Athletes who make national team to get $360,000
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Minister of Sports, Olivia Grange has announced that athletes who qualify for this year’s Olympic Games in Paris next month will each receive $360,000.
Grange made the announcement on Monday during the press launch of this year’s National Championships which will be held at the National Stadium from June 27-30.
The minister also announced that $50 million has been set aside to share among all Jamaican participants at this year’s Olympic Games.
A combined 680 junior and senior athletes have been entered in the National Championships.
Grange also stated that the bleachers will be open to the public for free on Friday and Sunday during the staging of the event.
