Stomp The Rhythm, fresh from a strong second-place finish behind the resurgent Easy As ABC on June 8, is poised to dominate today’s $1.25-million, top-rated, Overnight Allowance contest.

Despite being beaten by four lengths over a mile by Easy As ABC, the five-year-old bay gelding Stomp The Rhythm displayed impressive form throughout the race as he was prominent in the top three position from start to finish.

Now, with the added distance of nine furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m) and having already proven his mettle against most of the field,
Stomp The Rhythm is a strong contender for victory.

Neo Star, Sunset Silhouette, Sistren Treasure, and Rainsville all should make bold bids here for top honours.

The three-year-old and upward contest is positioned as the eighth event on the nine-race card with a post time of 4:55 pm, and the first race at 12:30 pm.

Bred by Savoy Stomp out of the War Chant mare River Rhythm, Stomp The Rhythm has been doing fairly well at exercise in the mornings, suggesting that he is in good spirit. Champion jockey Reyan Lewis has remained in the irons aboard Stomp The Rhythm.

Neo Star, a talented runner who finished fourth by six-and-three-quarter lengths in the same race, is likely to be the headline contender and could prove tough to beat.

Sunset Silhouette (Northern Giant – Ahwhofah), bred to get a distance of ground, has been consistent and could be awarded for her efforts.

Sistren Treasure has also been doing well in her races, finishing second twice and third once from five starts this season, and worked a promising 1:03.3 for five furlongs on Sunday, June 30.

Rainsville, a grey gelding who has already won over this distance in a smart 1:58.0, is a strong contender and expected to put up a brave effort.

With a talented field assembled, today’s race promises to be an exciting contest.
