Three in custody after firearm, ammo seized in Portland

PORTLAND, Jamaica — A Glock pistol with a magazine containing seven 9mm rounds of ammunition was seized by a team of officers assigned to the Portland Police Division in an operation in the parish on Thursday.

Three men were arrested in connection with the seizure.

According to reports, about 9:30 am, lawmen were in the area when they saw three men in a motor vehicle. The police team went to investigate and the vehicle was searched. During the search of the vehicle, the firearm was found in the trunk.

All three men were subsequently taken into custody. Their identities are being withheld pending further investigation.
