Shine with confidence: Transform your skin with these expert tips

YOUR skin is more than just a cover — it’s a protective shield that reflects your inner health. Keeping it strong and vibrant isn’t just about appearance; it’s about long-term wellness. Healthy skin guards against bacteria, viruses, and pollutants, retain moisture, and even help produce vitamin D, essential for strong bones. Plus, well-cared-for skin boosts your confidence, showing off a balanced lifestyle.

As we age, skin changes — losing elasticity, developing fine lines, and slowing down renewal. Sun exposure, pollution, and stress can accelerate these changes, making a solid skincare routine essential.

Here are some expert tips from Daina De Gale, beauty manager at Fontana Pharmacy, to achieve radiant skin. Achieving beautiful skin doesn’t have to be complicated. Whether you’re always on the go or prefer to keep things simple, these four steps will keep your skin glowing.

1) Cleanse: The foundation of healthy skin

Cleansing is a must. It clears away dirt, oils, and impurities without stripping your skin. But don’t just grab any cleanser — choose one with nourishing ingredients. For everyday use, De Gale recommends the COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser or the CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser. Fontana Pharmacy is an exclusive retailer for COSRX in Jamaica.

2) Tone: Balance and refresh

Toners aren’t just for oily skin; they balance your skin’s pH and remove any leftover residue from cleansing. “My go-to is 100 per cent witch hazel. If you’re battling breakouts, consider something targeted like the COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid or [BHA/]AHA Clarifying Treatment Toner,“ De Gale says.

3) Treat: Power-packed serums and masks

Serums and masks are your secret weapons; they deliver potent ingredients directly to your skin. For deep hydration and that coveted glass-skin look, try the COSRX Power Essence. If you’re dealing with uneven texture or oiliness, the Nineteen62 Niacinamide Serum is your best bet. And for an antibacterial boost, Cala’s Tea Tree Masks can help keep those breakouts at bay.

4) Moisturise: Seal in hydration

Lock in moisture and protect your skin with a good moisturiser. Look for ingredients like collagen and hyaluronic acid. For a simple, effective option, pure aloe vera works wonders. And never skip sunscreen — opt for at least SPF 15 to shield your skin from UV damage. Some top picks? The COSRX Aloe SPF 50 Cream, CeraVe AM SPF 30 Lotion, or the Black Girl Sunscreen line.

“Navigating the world of skincare can be overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. At Fontana Pharmacy, our skilled beauty team is here to guide you. Whether you need a complete skincare overhaul or just a single product, we’ll help you find what’s best for your skin,“ De Gale says.
