Liverpool, Chelsea collide in a blockbuster EPL clash at Anfield

Bayern Munich, Stuttgart lock horns at Allianz Arena

Europe’s top leagues resume this weekend after a two-week break, and Germany’s Bayern Munich will meet Stuttgart tomorrow [Saturday] in a mouth-watering clash, then on Sunday, Liverpool and Chelsea collide in a blockbuster Premier League clash at Anfield.

Event # 1 – GER – Bayern Munich vs Stuttgart – 11:30 AM

Bayern Munich and Stuttgart will lock horns at the Allianz Arena tomorrow in what promises to be an intriguing match as Bayern have been scoring goals for fun and Stuttgart’s last eight matches have seen both teams scoring. Bayern Munich will view this match as the game which cost them the title last season and will be aiming for revenge, as Stuttgart battered them 3-1 when both sides met last May. More incredibly, two of the four matches between both teams ended in draws last season. Ahead of this vital clash, Bayern’s form has been patchy to say the least, they drew 1-1 with defending Bundesliga champions Leverkusen, before being surprised 1-0 away to Aston Villa in Champions League action. Additionally, just before the international break, they played to an exciting 3-3 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt which means they are winless in their last three matches in all competitions.

Much like opponents Bayern Munich, Frankfurt have drawn their last three matches in all competitions and will be desperate for a win here. Away from home, Stuttgart’s form will be of concern as they have won twice, drawn twice, and lost twice in their last six games. With that said, Stuttgart have been potent in attack, recently scoring 15 goals in their last 6 matches, but it’s their leaky defence that is cause for concern, having conceded 11 goals during this run. Indeed, they have scored in 22 consecutive matches in all competitions but have failed to keep a clean sheet in five of their last six away games which will be music to the ears of the free-scoring Bayern Munich team.

Key Stats

• Bayern Munich – Bayern Munich are winless in their last three matches, but they have won six of their last seven home matches.

• Stuttgart – Stuttgart have drawn their last three matches and have conceded at least a goal in each of their last nine matches.

• Both sides – in the previous meeting between both teams, Stuttgart defeated Bayern 3-1.

The betting Tip. Bayern Munich win.

Event # EPL – Liverpool vs Chelsea – 10:30 AM

Liverpool and Chelsea will meet in a blockbuster showdown at Anfield this Sunday in a game featuring the two in-form sides in the Premier League. With a rich history of drama dating back to the Benitez and Mourinho days, Sunday’s game is set to deliver drama and intensity in what promises to be a pivotal clash, as both teams will be eager to prove their title credentials. Liverpool currently sit top of the league, while Chelsea are fourth in the standing. Indeed, following the departure of Jurgen Kloop, Liverpool was expected to struggle under new coach Arne Slot, but they have surprised all and sundry with their excellent start to the campaign, having won six of their opening seven matches while scoring 13 goals and conceding just two, to have the best defensive record in the league. Liverpool will be confident of extending their unbeaten run when Chelsea arrives at Anfield as they are unbeaten against the Blues in their last nine matches and have scored at least two goals in five of their last six games against Chelsea, who have failed to score in any of those six meetings.

Chelsea, on the other hand, after a rocky and chaotic start to the season, has turned into one of the league’s most dangerous sides, thanks to the impressive form of Cole Palmer, who has been scoring goals for fun. The Blues, Chelsea, head into this match having won four of their last five matches in all competitions and they haven’t lost a game since their opening day defeat to Manchester City, though they would have been frustrated after playing to a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest just before the international break. With that said, Chelsea will be aiming for a rare win at Anfield as their last success came back in March 2021, which remains their only win at Liverpool in their previous Premier League visits.

Key Stats

• Liverpool – Liverpool have won nine of their opening ten matches to start the new season and have won each of their first four away games too.

• Chelsea – Chelsea have won their last five away league matches and are unbeaten in their last seven overall matches.

• Both sides – When both teams met last season, Liverpool won 4-1 at home and drew 1-1 away at Stamford Bridge.

The betting Tip. Liverpool win.
