CIB victorious in thrilling Corporate Domino Series

In a dominating display of domino prowess, Covenant Insurance Brokers (CIB) claimed the coveted title of champions in the Winners/National Domino Referees’ Association Corporate Domino Series.

The two-legged grand finale saw CIB triumph over Dairy Industrial Limited with an aggregate score of 300-217.

The foundation for their championship win was laid on September 27 when CIB hosted Dairy Industrial Limited at their Norwood Road address. With home advantage on their side, CIB delivered a resounding 150-80 victory, setting the stage for the second leg.

On October 11, CIB travelled to 111 Washington Boulevard to face their opponents in the decisive second leg. Dairy Industrial Limited put up a valiant effort, but CIB’s momentum couldn’t be halted. They secured a 150-137 win, cementing their overall victory.

Covenant Insurance Brokers ignited the court with a scorching start to the second leg, racing to a 7-2 lead over Dairy Industrial Limited. However, the home team soon found their rhythm, transforming the game into a nail-biting, back-and-forth contest. The score was tied an astonishing nine times in the first half, showcasing the intensity and skill of both teams.

At half-time, CIB clung to a slender 76-74 advantage, setting the stage for an electrifying second half.

Dairy Industrial Limited stormed back after the break, seizing a 79-77 lead to energise the crowd. The two teams engaged in a fierce battle for supremacy, trading blows and keeping members of the audience on the edge of their seats.

Captains made strategic substitutions, searching for the winning combination. In the end, CIB’s determination and teamwork proved decisive, as they edged ahead to secure the hard-fought victory.

The thrilling matchup showcased the best of corporate domino competition, with both teams demonstrating exceptional skill and sportsmanship. CIB’s impressive performance earned them the coveted championship title, solidifying their position as a force to be reckoned with in the corporate domino landscape.
