El Clásico showdown: Real Madrid vs Barcelona

JustBet offers Real Madrid at odds of $2.00 to beat Barcelona

THE Spanish capital will be in a frenzy as Real Madrid will be aiming to make it four straight wins in all competitions over Barcelona when they meet in the mouth-watering Spanish El Clasico tomorrow. Then on Sunday, title aspirants Arsenal and Liverpool go head-to-head in a blockbuster Premier League at Emirates.

Event # 1 – Spain– Real Madrid vs Barcelona – 2:00 pm

Two of the greatest rivals in Spanish and European football will collide this Saturday as Barcelona travel to the Spanish capital to face Real Madrid in an eagerly anticipated clash that could determine who wins La Liga this season, even though it’s only week 11 in the campaign. Indeed, Real Madrid trail Barcelona by three points in the standing, and victory over their in form rivals would send them to the top of the table. Real Madrid are unbeaten in La Liga, winning four of their last five games, but have not been convincing in their displays so far. They were held to a 1-1 draw by 10-man Atletico Madrid last month, then lost 1-0 to Lille of France in their previous Champions League match, before rebounding with a whopping 5-2 Champions League victory over Dortmund earlier this week. At home the Whites, Real Madrid, have been a different beast with seven wins from their seven home matches in all competitions.

Barcelona have been on fire in recent times, scoring goals for fun, with leading marksman Robert Lewandowski the chief architect in netting 12 goals in 10 league matches so far. They enter this contest in red-hot form, having hammered Sevilla 5-1 at the weekend before dispatching Young Boys 5-0 in their last Champions League match. Worryingly for Barcelona is that they have failed to beat Real Madrid in their last five attempts, suffering losses in all those games. With that said, Barcelona lead La Liga — having won nine of their opening 10 matches – and were victorious in four of their last six away matches, drawing the other two. However, when it comes to form El Clasico is a different animal for these teams. Both teams met three times last season, with Real Madrid winning all three matches, but two years ago the teams played each other five times and Barcelona won four of those, so fans can expect to be treated to an exciting El Clasico this Saturday.

Key Stats

• Real Madrid – Real Madrid have won seven straight home matches in all competitions.

• Barcelona – Barcelona have scored at least one or more in their last 12 matches in all competitions.

• Both sides – Real Madrid are unbeaten in their last 39 home matches in all competitions while Barcelona are unbeaten in 12 of their last 14 away matches in all competitions.

The betting tip: Barcelona win.

Event # EPL – Arsenal vs Liverpool– 11:30 am

Two of the Premier League’s title contenders, Arsenal and Liverpool will go head-to-head this Sunday in a blockbuster clash that could determine which team pushes champions Manchester City for the title this season. Arsenal currently sits third in the table, four points behind Liverpool who are the current leaders. The Gunners, Arsenal have been excellent so far this season, winning seven of their 11 overall matches, including a 1-0 midweek victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in Champions League action. At home, Arsenal is tough to beat, winning three and drawing one of their opening four games. However, it’s their inability to keep clean sheets against top six opponents in recent times that raises concerns amongst the Arsenal faithful.

Liverpool was expected to struggle following Jurgen Klopp’s exit but that has not been the case, with the Reds leading the standings having won seven of their opening eight games and 10 of their 11 overall matches played so far. The Reds have also impressed on their travels, winning all four away leagues games, and also defeated AC Milan away in Champions League action. Sunday’s match promises to be compelling as both teams will be out to prove their title credentials. While Arsenal were renowned for their defensive solidity last season it’s Liverpool that have assumed that mantle this campaign, conceding just two goals from their opening eight league games to boost their defensive record in the league. With that said, although there is plenty of attacking threat on the pitch from both teams, the strong defence of the two teams might have the final say in what could turn out to be a tight affair.

Key Stats

• Arsenal – Arsenal have won five home matches in a row and are unbeaten in their last 12 home matches.

• Liverpool – Liverpool have won their last five away matches and are unbeaten in their last seven overall matches.

• Both sides–When both teams met last season, Arsenal won 3-1 at home and drew 1-1 away at Anfield

The betting tip. Arsenal win or draw.
