PNP gen sec declares victory in Aenon Town division ahead of ballot count
CLARENDON, Jamaica — Even though polling stations closed at 5:00 pm and ballots are yet to be tallied, General Secretary of the People’s National Party (PNP) Dr Dayton Campbell said his party’s candidate Delroy Dawson has won the Aenon Town Division.
“I believe we have won. We did the work, we did the canvas, and we ensured we had the workers in place. They have put out a tremendous effort throughout the campaign and today. They’ve really stood up and made the party proud. They’ve brought out the supporters and I believe we have won,” he confidently told the Observer Online.
Campbell, however, said it is still important to await the official ballot count.
“You know you still have to wait for the ballots to be counted, but I believe from what our canvas is and the persons that we’ve mobilised, I believe we’ve won…”
