Razor B lauds female dancers
Dancehall artiste Razor B along with Teetwerk, RaniGAD, and Bay C have paid tribute to some of the genre’s most iconic female dancers with 90s Vibe Riddim.
The production “is showing homage to all the dancehall divas/queens from the 90s, [including] Keiva, Mad Michelle, Dancehall Queen Carlene, DHQ Stacy, Ouch Crew and Pinky — rest in peace — just to name a few”, Razor B told the Jamaica Observer.
Released on November 7, the project was produced by Soundbank Music and FlurtBeats.
Adding that the feedback has been encouraging so far with plays in countries such as the United States, South America, Canada, and Europe, Razor B said it is important to hail stalwarts while he still can.
“My hope for this is for persons in our industry to recognise the hard work that these female have done over the years and continue to do. We need to give them their flowers and show them the respect that they deserve… I’m hoping that this song creates that impact because females are not given enough credit for their creativity in dancehall,” he said.
Razor B, whose real name is Roger Cassup, is known for hits such as 2025 world tour
Bruk Back, Hot Up , Up in Deh , Happy Moment ,We Nah Leff, Hanky Panky, Beetroot, and more.
He is currently working on an album.
