Funeral underway for Robert Russell

ST JAMES, Jamaica— Business and political leaders have gathered at the Montego Bay Convention Centre for the funeral of Robert “Ducksie” Russell.

Russell died on December 11, 2024. He was 76.

Russell was part of an eight-member team known as Summerfest Productions that staged the inaugural Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay in 1993. He also operated the popular Pier One restaurant in Montego Bay and lived in that city for almost 40 years.

Russell is survived by his wife Beverley, five children, grandchildren, a brother, and sister.
