Court matters suspended in Spanish Town, Old Harbour due to SOE
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Court Administration Division (CAD) is advising the public that matters scheduled for Thursday at the Spanish Town and Old Harbour courts have been suspended.
The suspension follows the declaration of a State of Public Emergency (SOE) in St Catherine South due to a recent surge in violent crime.

It also comes in the aftermath of the fatal shooting of the reputed leader of the One Order Gang, Othneil Lobban otherwise called “Thickman” at Six Miles in St Andrew about 10:30 pm on Wednesday.

“The safety of court users, staff and stakeholders remains a top priority. CAD is committed to ensuring the continued administration of justice while taking necessary precautions to safeguard all individuals within the affected areas,” CAD said in a release Thursday morning.
It further advised that individuals with matters scheduled for the affected courts are encouraged to contact the relevant court or the CAD at 876-586-9783.
It added that a list of rescheduled court dates will be shared as soon as possible.
“CAD appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation during this time. We value your support as we take steps to ensure everyone’s safety,” the court continued.
