Courts store set ablaze amid Spanish Town unrest
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A Courts store in Spanish Town was reportedly set ablaze early Thursday morning amid ongoing unrest in the old capital over the police killing of a reputed gang leader.
Checks with Jamaica Fire Brigade (JFB) Commissioner Stewart Beckford revealed that a team from the JFB were on the ground in the tense community. He did not comment further on the incident.
Othneil Lobban otherwise called “Thickman” was reportedly shot and killed by members of the Joint Anti-Gang Task Force (JAGTF) at Six Miles in St Andrew about 10:30 pm on Wednesday.
