WATCH: Fleet Street residents protest police shooting of community member
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Residents of Fleet Street, Kingston are protesting the fatal shooting of a community member by police officers on Wednesday.
Reports are that a man, who residents identified as Jermaine Richards, was fatally shot by security forces in the parking lot of Ardenne Emirates Plaza complex in St Andrew.
According to a resident of Fleet Street, the community where Richards lived, the police officer shot him “multiple” times following an altercation.
The residents are questioning the motive behind the murder of their community member.
One resident described Richards as a “respectable young, kind-hearted man weh look out fi him people and community”.
The Kingston Central police have since confirmed the shooting but provided no further details.
