WATCH: Crawford defends auditor general, slams Holness
ST ANN, Jamaica – People’s National Party (PNP) caretaker for St Catherine North West, Senator Damion Crawford has come to the defence of Auditor General Pamela Munroe Ellis after Prime Minister Andrew Holness slammed her office’s report on the New Social Housing Programme (NSHP).
The auditor general’s report raised concerns that NSHP and other social programmes have similar objectives and overlapping functions. The report also says there is a lack of coordination among these entities.
However, Holness rejected the findings, arguing that the various agencies mentioned in the report have their own roles to play in the delivery of social programmes. He went on to say that he found it “very disturbing that a programme like the New Social Housing Programme, which was carefully crafted, well executed, is being almost attacked in this way.”

But Senator Crawford, speaking at a PNP meeting in St Ann South Western earlier this week, hit back at Holness, suggesting that his administration was “incompetent”.
