Blessings continue to Overflow for Jason Mighty
Gospel recording artiste and minister Jason Mighty continues to reap success with his most recent studio album Overflow.
The 13-track project, which was released in 2022 via Jason Mighty Ministries, has opened up several opportunities for the St Catherine-born Mighty, who presently resides in Canada.
“The album has been well-received, and it continues to gain acceptance and love from the fans all over the world. It has been streaming well in different countries, including some of which I have never performed. It has opened up many opportunities for me, while giving me many new fan bases around the world,” Mighty told the Jamaica Observer on Friday.
And while he continues to bask in the success of the album, which he said has done well on several
iTunes charts globally, he shared how the title for the album came about.
“The title for the album was given to me while I was driving on the highway and thinking about the goodness of God. And I remember an interview I heard Bob Marley did when they asked him if he is a rich man, and he said, ‘What makes you rich? Is it material things?’ Then he said: “If it’s material things, then I don’t call myself rich, but if it’s loving God and loving people them I am rich. So that’s what inspired it,” said Mighty.
He continued: “Working on this album wasn’t easy because I was stuck in a writing slum. But God came through just in time with the right message, right on time.”
Overflow is the fifth studio release for Mighty. It features production work from the likes of Courick Clark (Heatcour Productions), Kevin “Lazarus Music” Butler, DaJourney Production, Heavenly Waves, His Majesty Sound System, and Jason Mighty Ministries.
Papa San, Marvia Providence, DJ Nicholas, Goddy Goddy, and Sherwin Gardner are among the collaborators.
Tracks on Overflow include Running Over; Who You Serve; It’s Not Over; Peace; Crazy; Tell of Your Love; and We Need Your Fire, Lord.
Jason Mighty began his musical journey in the early 2000s. He signed with Day Star Productions in Canada.
Having given his life to the Lord at the age of 19, he said he has continued his relationship with Him since then.
