HANOVER, Jamaica — Immediate past president of the Lay Magistrates Association of Jamaica, Hanover Chapter, Glenroy Clarke has paid tribute to the late Custos of Hanover, Dr David Stair, who was found dead at his Pond Piece home in Hopewell, Hanover, Wednesday evening.

Clarke said that while the death of the custos has left the Hanover community saddened and in mourning, his life and work should be cherished.

“We extend condolences to his wife and his extended family as they go through this period of bereavement. We pray for the strength of God to be with them in this most difficult time. So, on behalf of the Lay Magistrates Association of Jamaica, Hanover Chapter, we celebrate his life, cherish his memories and work in the parish. We extend heartfelt sympathies and condolences to his family,” stated Clarke.

Stair provided more than ten years of service as a custodian and served alongside Clarke on the Hanover Mediation Board and the Russeas High School Board.

Reports are that Stair was found dead by co-workers who went to check on him after he failed to show up for work. His body was found in the bathroom.
Stair worked part-time at the Sandy Bay Health Centre.

Stair currently has Senior Justice of the Peace Alvin Jackson before the Hanover Parish Court for a traffic accident that occurred on Independence Day last year. The two were booked to return to court on February 19.
