Music exec Irv Gotti, co-founder of Murder Inc Records, dead at 54
American record executive and music entrepreneur Irv Gotti has died, according to US media reports.
Gotti, born Irving Lorenzo Jr, who co-founded Murder Inc Records, reportedly passed away on Wednesday after suffering a stroke. He was 54.
Alongside brother Chris, Gotti co-founded Murder Inc as an Imprint of Def Jam Records in 1998 and helped establish stars such as Ja Rule, Ashanti and DMX.
According to Billboard, Gotti is credited as a producer on 28 charting Hot 100 hits, from Ja Rule, Ashanti, DMX, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Fat Joe and Ye.
