Two Haitians arrested during St Elizabeth operation
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica – A firearm was seized and two Haitian women arrested during an operation in Parottee, St Elizabeth on Thursday morning, police say.
Head of the St Elizabeth police Superintendent Coleridge Minto said the operation took place about 11:00 am.
“The police acting on information visited [an] address. On arrival at the location one man ran from the premises into the swampy area. Two females were detained. They are confirmed to be Haitians. A 9mm browning pistol was also seized,” he said.
Minto said the police extensively searched the premises even as he said this latest seizure is the third one in recent days.
“We continue to appeal to our citizens to provide any information that they have that can assist the police to share with 119 or the Black River CIB,” he said.
