Many-time champions St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) hardly broke a sweat as they overwhelmed Vere Technical High School in the rural Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association/Grace Headley Cup cricket competition on March 14.

At Sir P Oval, STETHS beat Vere Technical by 10 wickets.

Vere, batting first, were dismissed for 50 as STETHS Captain Tyriek Bryan led the way with three wickets for 19 bowling leg breaks. Adrian Silvera, Jahiel Smith and Maleek Spence took two wickets each.

Bryan, 32 not out, and Humaro Reid, 18 not out, then carried STETHS to victory at 54 without loss.

At Dinthill Technical High School, Clarendon College beat the home side by three wickets.

Jemone Jones top scored with 61 and Tejuan Brown made 32 but Dinthill could only manage 117 batting first against Clarendon’s Tequan Roberts, who 6-31.

Shakiel Walters then made 44 to lead Clarendon to 118 for seven wickets. Jones completed an outstanding all-round performance in a losing cause, taking 6-27.

At May Day High, the home team beat Garvey Maceo High by 85 runs. May Day High made 184 all out with Mark Barrett leading the scoring with 28 against Dantay Dillon who took 4-62.

Garvey Maceo fell to defeat at 99 all out as May Day left-arm spinner Jevar Murray claimed 6-34.

At Holmwood Technical, leg spinner Kevaun Flemming grabbed 8-14 after top scoring with 47 as the home team beat Black River High by 97 runs.

Holmwood first made 173 all out with Flemming’s knock, Richard Miles (33) and Kemar Williamson (28) against off spinner Ejay Spence, 4-27.

Flemming then ran riot with his leg breaks as Black River High collapsed to defeat at 76 all out.
