The recent Good Times retro party held at Fort Rocky, Port Royal, on Saturday, March 15, 2025 proved to be a landmark event that not only delivered an unforgettable night of entertainment but also demonstrated the untapped potential of this historic site as a vibrant centre for cultural and recreational activities.

Debate has long surrounded Fort Rocky, with discussions focused on whether the site should remain an untouched historical landmark or be utilised for recreational purposes. The Good Times event offered a clear and positive demonstration of how a carefully planned event can honour heritage while reinvigorating an area.

The event, which began at 10:00 pm and extended to 5:30 am, attracted a diverse crowd of patrons that included couples, young adults, tourists, and local residents.

With show-stopping sets by ZJ Liquid, DJ Delano, DJ Kurt Riley, and Bad Gyal Marie, the atmosphere was electrified with music spanning various decades between the 90s and 2000s. Attendees were treated to an experience in which nostalgic beats met contemporary energy, ensuring that the dance floor remained packed throughout the night.

Recognising the challenges of hosting the event at Fort Rocky, organisers secured off-site parking at the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) Air Wing. A dedicated shuttle service operated throughout the night, transporting guests between the parking area and the venue. This arrangement not only minimised congestion but also underscored a commitment to responsible event management and environmental sensitivity.

For Good Times, Fort Rocky was transformed into an elegant venue that celebrated its rich cultural heritage while embracing modern recreational appeal. A striking “Good Times” LED sign welcomed guests at the entrance, setting the tone for a night of electrified celebration.

Sponsor displays, food vendor tents, and well-organised service areas were strategically positioned around the venue to ensure comfort and accessibility, enhancing the overall guest experience.
