Major Lazer’s ‘Pon De Floor’ with Vybz Kartel makes it to Billboard list
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Vybz Kartel is the second Jamaican to be ranked among Billboard magazine’s 100 Best Dance Songs of All Time List.
His collaboration Pon De Floor with Major Lazer ranks at #60. The list which was revealed on Monday, also features Grace Jones’ 1981 dance hit Pull Up to My Bumper which ranks at #82.

Pon De Floor is featured on Major Lazer’s debut album Guns Don’t Kill People…Lazers Do. The song peaked at #125 on the UK Singles chart, #41 on Billboard’s Dance Digital Song Sales chart and #18 in Mexico.
In 2011, Beyonce used the beat of Pon De Floor as the base for her hit Run The World (Girls).
Some of the other popular songs that made the Billboard Dance Songs list include Good Life by Inner City, Don’t Leave Me This Way by Thelma Houston, Together Again by Janet Jackson, Young Hearts Run Free by Candi Staton and Black Box’s 1990 monster club anthem Everybody Everybody.
