KINGSTON, Jamaica — Humble Lion continued their fight against relegation with a 3-1 upset win over Arnett Gardens in their Jamaica Premier League (JPL) third-round game played at Effortville Community Centre on Thursday.

Richardo Ramsey scored a double for Humble Lion who were beating a play-off contender for the second time in three games after they had a similar result against Cavalier FC last week.

The win saw Humble Lion move three points clear of the relegation zone in 12th place, on 32 points, same as 11th place Harbour View, both from 34 games played.

Ramsey, who doubled his goals tally to four with his brace, scored in the 13th minute to give Humble Lion the lead but Warner Brown extended his league-leading tally to 20 when he equalised in the 31st minute.

Ramsey restored Humble Lion’s lead in the 53rd minute before Deonjay Brown, who was subbed into the game in the 67th minute, secured the points when he scored their third goal in the 77th minute.

Montego Bay United failed to capitalise on Arnett Gardens’ loss after giving up an equaliser in time added against Waterhouse FC as they ended 1-1 at Drewsland stadium and remained in third place, on goal difference, both on 66 points but Arnett Gardens has a game in hand.

Lucas Lima gave Montego Bay the lead in the 72nd minute but Waterhouse FC salvaged a point when Navardo Blair came off the bench to score the equaliser in time added.

It was the third straight-drawn game for Montego Bay and second for Waterhouse FC.

Defending champions Cavalier rallied for a 1-1 draw against Tivoli Gardens at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex where Alton Lewis gave Tivoli Gardens the lead late in the first half scoring in the 43rd minute.

Shacquille Stein, who was a second-half substitute, scored in the 88th minute for Cavalier FC who are winless in four games.

In the other game played Chapelton, Maroons won for the third time in four games, edging Dunbeholden FC 1-0 and moving ahead of them on the points table, on goal difference, both on 33 points.

Nathaniel Howe scored in the 53rd minute, his third goal of the season.
