Run Julie Run to brush aside rivals in Legal Light Trophy
The Legal Light Trophy, a prestigious Open Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward over nine furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m), is set to feature a competitive field of six runners on Sunday’s 10-race card at Caymanas Park.
Here’s an in-depth analysis of each runner and their chances of claiming the $1.4-million purse:
1. INSPIRE FORCE (USA): (5 ch h by Union Jackson – Exotic Design) – Finished a good second in the St Cecelia Cup behind Pack Plays on April 19. Inspire Force might welcome the extended distance and could challenge the favourite.
2. D HEAD CORNERSTONE: (6 b h by Bern Identity – Soul of the Heart) – Only participating to make up numbers, D Head Cornerstone’s chances seem slim.
3. RUN JULIE RUN: (4 gr f by Successful Native – Runaway Julie) – The obvious choice. Run Julie Run has been training well after a fifth-place finish in the Ian Levy Cup on April 5. Given her class and talent she’s expected to be an easy winner.
4. RAINSVILLE: (6 gr g by Casual Trick – Fiftyshadesofray) – Expected to run well without necessarily winning.
Rainsville could be a dark horse.
5. GEOLITHIC (USA): (5 b m by Neolithic – Queen Q) – Geolithic might struggle to keep up with the pace and could be left behind.
6. NEO STAR: (6 g h by Neolithic – Angel Dream) – An easy winner over Mahogany on March 23, Neo Star is expected to run well and could provide strong competition to Run Julie Run.
