GenXS Touchdown: The ultimate carnival welcome party
Carnival Sunday isn’t official until you’ve touched down — and GenXS Touchdown made sure to roll out the red carpet in true Caribbean style.
Held at Janga’s Sports Bar and Grill in St Andrew, Touchdown is the unofficial greeting party for revellers flying in from all over the world to join the carnival festivities. Whether you landed that morning or had been gearing up all week, Touchdown was where the energy truly began to build.
As the crowd slowly trickled in, Trinidadian DJ Lord Hype kept the early vibes flowing, mixing soca, dancehall, and feel-good island hits. On the turntables alongside him was none other than Lurbz, delivering his signature style — a mashup of DJing and hyping the crowd — and making sure every arrival felt like a VIP.

At first, the energy was a mellow buzz — lots of hugs, drink clinks, and catching up — but by 11 pm, the party shifted gears. Travis World, one of the hottest DJs in the Caribbean scene right now, took over the booth, and Janga’s absolutely exploded with energy.
The beats got heavier, the flags came out, and the dance floor turned into a full-on soca fete. Travis World delivered hit after hit, with every song pushing the crowd higher and higher. It was pure electric vibes — that special mix of joy and anticipation that only Carnival season can bring.
One reveller captured the spirit of the night perfectly: “Touchdown isn’t just a party — it’s your first jump-up of carnival. It’s when you know the good times are just getting started!”

GenXS Touchdown wasn’t just a party — it was a signal. Carnival 2025 had officially arrived, and Kingston was ready to turn up.
