‘Pump Up’ celebrates Diamond Jubilee
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Clive ‘Pump Up’ Grannell, proprietor of the prominent Pump Up Liquor Store, marked a milestone on Good Friday this year, celebrating his 60th birthday in an unforgettable fashion.
The recent event was a testament to his success and influence in the liquor industry over the years.
At exactly 11:30, Pump Up arrived at his birthday celebrations with attendees all awaiting their chance to pass along birthday greetings to the man himself.
Much to his delight, the event was attended by industry partners, friends and family, and was sponsored by luxury cognac brand, Courvoisier. This added an elegant flair to the celebrations, as patrons came out “dressed to the nines” in their most ritzy outfits.
“This birthday celebration is not just about marking another year of my life,” said Pump Up. “It’s a chance to recognise the amazing journey I’ve had in the liquor industry and to share this moment with those who have been a part of that journey. I’m grateful to Courvoisier for their incredible generosity and support in making this 60th year celebrations an extra-special one.”
The event featured a selection of Courvoisier’s finest offerings. The night was filled with laughter, memories and a deep sense of camaraderie as industry leaders celebrated Pump Up’s legacy in the business.
Levi Bloomfield, commercial manager at J Wray & Nephew, shared his birthday wishes for Pump Up, as he reflects on the relationship the company has had with Pump Up over the years.
“Pump Up has been a cornerstone of the local liquor industry for as long as can be remembered. At Courvoisier, we believe every moment of celebration deserves to be extraordinary. However, Pump Up’s birthday isn’t just a party — it’s a toast to bold energy and a legacy of excellence. Here’s to raising a glass the Courvoisier way — with style, passion, and a spirit that never settles, to a man who we’ve had an excellent relationship with over the years. We look forward to continuing this relationship for many more birthdays to come.”
As a prominent figure in the spirit industry, Pump Up’s career spans decades of dedication, hard work and passion for quality spirits. His contributions have helped to build a strong network of relationships with leading brands across Jamaica, and he has amassed a high level of respect from his peers for his professionalism and passion for the craft.
