Wesrok teams with Masicka, Busy Signal and Big Mountain for new album

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Country reggae singer Wesrok has enlisted Masicka, Busy Signal and gold-selling American reggae band Big Mountain for his debut album which is due for release over the next few weeks.

Observer Online has learnt exclusively that the album, titled Ride Cowboy Ride, will feature ten tracks.

“[Ride Cowboy Ride] will have ten songs including three collaborations. There are songs with Masicka, Busy Signal and Big Mountain,” Wesrok told Observer Online on Saturday.

It is understood that producers Troyton Music, Alfonso Maldonado and 360 Global, are responsible for producing some of the tracks on the project.

According to Wesrok, the album is a blend of different messages.

“It’s a straight country and reggae vibe. This album is a blend of positive messages, it’s also entertaining, and it also touches on topical issues,” said Wesrok.

The first single, True Love featuring Big Mountain, made its way onto Billboard’s Country Digital Song Sales chart last October, where it peaked at #86.  The video for the song was shot on location in Ensenada, Mexico.

“The collaboration with Big Mountain came about after a friend recommended Quino, lead vocalist of the group. That’s how the song came to fruition,” said Wesrok, who recently returned to the island after a fact-finding mission in Europe.

Wesrok visited Spain, Italy, France and Malta, where he gathered vital information, culture and history, which he has incorporated into the production of his album.

Said Wesrok, “The experience in Europe added more value and appreciation for music lovers and that the music of Wesrok has a place outside of Jamaica.”

A new single from Ride Cowboy Ride, is to be released over the next two weeks, to give fans a taste of what is to come.
