Reggae Sumfest unveils massive line-up for week of festival

Jamaica’s premier music festival, Reggae Sumfest, sent shockwaves through the global entertainment scene this weekend with the explosive reveal of its 2025 artiste line-up and official event graphics.

Music fans from across the world are now officially counting down to festival week, which will ignite Montego Bay, St James, from Sunday, July 13 to Saturday, July 19 at Catherine Hall Stadium and Catherine Hall Entertainment Complex — promising seven days of non-stop energy, culture, and world-class performances.

Tarrus Riley, Masicka, and Vybz Kartel have been confirmed as the headline acts for the two main nights of the festival — Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19 at Catherine Hall Entertainment Complex. Each artiste represents a pillar of Jamaica’s powerful musical legacy, from roots reggae to the gritty edge of dancehall, ensuring fans are in for unforgettable performances beneath the Montego Bay stars.

But that’s not all — Downsound Entertainment dropped a major surprise that has fans and insiders buzzing: the introduction of Global Fete, set for Thursday, July 17 at Catherine Hall Stadium. For the first time in its storied history, Reggae Sumfest will officially broaden its stage to showcase the power and influence of Afrobeats, hip-hop, reggae, and dancehall — all in one genre-defying night.

“Reggae Sumfest has always been about evolution, excellence and elevation, and with Global Fete, we’re showing just how dynamic Jamaican music culture can be when fused with global genres. We are giving the world a taste of what’s next,” said Karla Jankee, marketing executive and head of special events at Downsound Entertainment.

Global Fete will feature live performances by Ghana’s rising star Moliy, who’s set to “Shake It To The Max,” viral sensation and international soca artiste Yung Bredda, and Marcy Chin, the fearless dancehall stablemate from the Downsound camp. The beats will be delivered by some of the hottest selectors in the game — CopperShot, Richie Ras, Fyah Man, and DJ Gabby, fresh off her high-energy Carnival run.

In a thrilling twist, Global Fete will also host a sound system showdown as legendary selector Tony Matterhorn takes on Notorious Sound, the reigning champions of last year’s epic Reggae Sumfest Sound Clash. Expect fire, flair, and sound system supremacy that only Jamaica can deliver.

“The festival is not just a celebration of music — it’s a celebration of culture, unity, and high-calibre entertainment. From our headliners to the Global Fete, fans should gear up for a production that is next-level in every way.” added Jankee.

In addition to the major announcements, Reggae Sumfest organisers revealed that the iconic all-black affair, Blitz, is back — bigger, bolder, and badder than ever. Set for Wednesday, July 16 at Catherine Hall Stadium, Blitz promises a sultry, high-energy experience from 8 pm to 2 am, where fashion meets fierce performances.

Headlining the night is none other than one of dancehall’s most prolific and culture-shifting artistes, Valiant, whose chart-topping hits have made him a force in the genre. He will take the stage alongside the Dancehall Doll, Stalk Ashley, whose blend of sultry vocals and unapologetic lyrics is set to deliver a captivating performance.

The musical vibes will be powered by some of the hottest selectors in the game — Code Red Sound, Bloodline Franco, Brush1, and DJ Ashile.

With Downsound Entertainment’s signature flair for top-tier production, artiste curation, and electric vibes, Reggae Sumfest 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most iconic editions yet. Whether you’re coming for the reggae legends, the dancehall fire, the Afrobeat rhythms, or the global clash, this is the summer stage no music lover should miss.

Tickets for the week-long activities of Reggae Sumfest are available now at reggaesumfest.com, with early bird and advance tickets currently on sale while supplies last.
