More than a car show
Organisers promise biggest Jamaica Auto Show ever this weekend
Auto aficionados should have plenty to enjoy this weekend as Jamaica Auto Show (JAS) 2025 opens at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 10, and runs through Sunday, May 11, at the National Arena and National Indoor Sports Centre, St Andrew.
“We’re not joking when we say that this is the biggest auto show Jamaica has ever seen,” JAS Show Director Mellissa Tulloch said at the event’s media launch on Tuesday, April 29, at S Hotel, New Kingston.
JAS 2025 will showcase more than 25 new car brands, supported by more than 40 vendors, with entertainment options for all ages and interests in attendance. These were numbers that surpassed the show’s initial targets.
“Our goal was to have 18 automotive brands participating, and I’m happy to say that we have over 25 and counting. Our goal was to have at least 30 vendors; we have over 40, and counting,” Tulloch said.
This has required significant use of the Independence Park complex. She explained that the show will be organised into four zones, each carrying a specific dealer group, vehicle type, or theme to make it easy for patrons to navigate. The first two zones will play host to domestic passenger vehicles, financial institutions, and automotive product vendors. Zone three will focus on classic and modified cars. Zone four will feature industrial and commercial vehicles.
Around these areas will be food courts, bars, and entertainment.
“This is a long-time dream of our owners. We’ve been working on this project for years now, and one of our long-term goals was to bring together all of Jamaica’s automotive dealers,” said Tulloch.
JAS 2025 is a joint venture between Main Event Entertainment Group, Mystique Integrated, and iPrint Group, with the aim of becoming the premier automotive event on the island that not just services automotive enthusiasts, but becomes a hub for industry professionals, and provides an entertaining family friendly experience, to which Tulloch touted the organisers’ ‘This isn’t just a car show’ theme at the media launch.
Given the level of industry support JAS 2025 has received, Tulloch said the long-term play is to make it an annual show.
