Having impacted the dancehall scene with a string of hits over the past two years, dancehall artiste RajahWild is gearing up to release his debut album Rocket Science.

In an exclusive interview with the Jamaica Observer, RajahWild said the project will showcase his musical growth.

“How mi grow musically mi woulda say inna context, one time mi used to prioritise the dark side, like a desso mi waan deh, sinful, but me just a show a different side to the game, and different understanding, and a darkness sed way. Mi mind just deh a different place and balance,” the deejay explained.

Though the release date for the project is yet to be finalised, what is confirmed, is that the album will feature production work by Unapologetic Muziq, Gloom Music, Zimi Records, Cash Code Records, Pharmacy Records, YG and DJ Mac.

The project will also comprise between 10 to 12 tracks and it is understood that three previously released songs will be among the final selection.

“Yuh know say all weh a gwaan, one day mi just ago mek up mi mind and just do the amount a song mi mind tell mi say fi drop,” said RajahWild.

Born and raised in Spanish Town, RajahWild (real name Duijai Blake) is 21 years old. He emerged from the heart of the ghetto with a story that’s as raw as his sound. His journey into music began unexpectedly in the sixth grade with a class project — he wrote a song about drugs, and the overwhelming response lit a fire in him. That was when he decided that music was his calling.

Among the hit songs, which have won him scores of fans are 100 Mile, Life a Di Party (with Najeeriii), Planet to Planet,
Go Go, Dolly House, and the chart-topper Wild Out.

His latest release On the Outside, produced by Unapologetic Muziq, was released two weeks ago. The official video was #22 on YouTube Trending for Music up to Monday, May 5.
