Janeel Mills releases the inspirational Hope
Singer Janeel Mills is known for her repertoire of songs dealing with matters of the heart. Now she wants to inspire others with her latest single, Hope, while sharing her personal journey.
Hope was produced by Makiri Whyte, and it was released on April 4.
“My personal journey and life experiences taught me the importance of holding on to hope. I’ve been through times when things felt uncertain, or even overwhelming, but the one constant that kept me grounded was hope. I believe that even in our darkest moments, hope is a powerful force that can carry us forward. It doesn’t always come from big moments. Sometimes, it’s found in the quietest places. That’s the message I wanted to convey through this song, and it’s a theme I carry throughout my music,” Janeel shares.
Mills is quite upbeat about the positive feedback she has received since the song and its official music video were released.
“The feedback has been nothing short of amazing. People have reached out, expressing how much they love the song and how deeply it resonates with them, not just the lyrics but the visuals. For me, hope is incredibly personal. It reflects my emotions, challenges, and the resilience I’ve built over time. So, to see it connect with others on their own paths makes it all the more meaningful,” Mills explained.
Inequality and access to quality education are two issues of concern to Janeel. She offers some solutions.
“Raising awareness, supporting grassroots and community-based organisations, and ensuring equal opportunities for all students are essential steps forward. But beyond systemic change, I think each of us can make a difference through the daily conscious decisions, whether it’s how we support others, what we choose to speak out about, or the values we uphold,” said Janeel.
Mills recently returned to the island after opening for singer Romain Virgo on his European tour. The tour, which ran from April 9 to 27, made stops in 16 cities in countries including Germany, Sweden, Italy, Norway, and the Netherlands.
“The tour was an incredible experience, and I had the opportunity to perform in countries like Germany, Sweden, Italy, Norway, and the Netherlands. The experience was unforgettable because each show was unique, and the energy from the crowds was electric. To share a stage with someone like Romain Virgo and to perform in front of such diverse and welcoming audiences was truly an honour,” Mills disclosed.
